Welcome to the Ituna Community Project (ICP) schools site.

ICP have a great passion for education both in Zambia and in the UK, and hope not only to provide vulnerable and orphaned  children in Africa with a quality education in a secure environment but also raise awareness and understanding amongst children in Britain.

We have 2 areas of interest to teachers:

National Curriculum Units -

We have developed geography curriculum units for primary schools Years 2 -  5, that offer links to literacy, design and technology, IT, spiritual, moral, social and cultural, ICT, science and the world of work. These unit guides and associated resources are free to view and download from this site.

Coupled with a fundraising events for the charity, this unique interactive form of learning provides the pupils a real link between their fundraising efforts and the positive effects on the area being studied.

To enhance the units the website will be constantly updated to provide feedback on building progress and updated with resources on the community, building project and fund raising efforts.

Unit 1 - Schools in Zambia (6-7 year olds)    Unit 2 - Optician (7 year olds)    Unit 3 - A village in Zambia (9 year olds)     Unit 4 - Water (10year olds)

School Visits -

We have performed assemblies and taken classes around the UK for both primary and secondary schools who wished to hold a series of fundraising events. Interactive power point presentations have been developed to explain the work of the charity and give further insight into life and education in Zambia.

We are a Sheffield based charity, and so as to make best use of our time and resources we would prefer future visits to be to local schools unless there is a real enthusiasm to raise funds.
