The Ituna Community Project is a UK based charity who are working in partnership with the Racecourse community in Kitwe Zambia. The focus of the project is helping the Ituna Community School with a new school building. For more information on how we plan do this click on 'our strategy' in the menu bar on the left or click here.
The project started in 2005 following a three week visit to Kitwe, and the school, by a group from the Sheffield branch of an international Christian organisation called the Navigators. Five of those on this trip, and one other person became the founding trustees of the charity and continue to run the project. The trustees are a mix of doctors, young professionals and students, while the members are mostly students from Sheffield universities.
